Cuyamaca 100K Training Run

Registration

Registration is closed

Hope you can join us for a training run on the Cuyamaca 100k course.

This run will start at the Green Valley Campground, which is the second aid station along the 1st loop.

We will meet at the Arroyo Seco Picnic area.  See the park brochure at this link for the location:

There is an $10 fee to park here, so carpooling is suggested.  The nearby Sweetwater trail head is a good place to meet up and shuttle in.

Picnic: All are welcome to join us for the post-run picnic after the run (approximately 11AM-2PM) at the campground.  Food and drink will be provided for all runners.

Distance: approximately 20 miles.

Water: Water is available Paso Picacho campground, about 14 miles into the run.

Run info: We will leave the Arroyo Seco picnic area, and head for the Pine Ridge trailhead at 7am. This is normally 14 miles into the race.  From there, we'll head up to Cuyamaca Peak, down to Paso Picacho, then to School Camp, and back to Green Valley.  We will be covering miles 14-31.5 of the course, plus the first 2 miles as well.

See the course description page of the Cuyamaca 100k website for maps and turn by turn instructions.

Alternatively, you could cross the road and jump on Loop 2, and do that 12.8 miles of the course instead.

You are responsible for your own safety. We will not be keeping track of where runners are on the trails and we encourage you not to run alone. If you are not familiar with the trails in Cuyamaca, please bring a map and/or a copy of the directions.
